Funding your claim

We offer all initial telephone enquiries free. However, it is useful if you check if you have any household or other insurance policies which may cover the cost of litigation or you can take out insurance just to cover the risk of losing your claim.

Unlike other types of Court disputes, you cannot recover your own legal costs from the other side in the dispute. Any lawyers’ fees will have to be paid by you privately or taken from any compensation award you receive. However, there are various ways in which your claim can be funded and we will advise on all the options at our first meeting.

However, we are normally able to persuade your employer to contribute to your legal costs, particularly if a Compromise Agreement has been offered and we always give an estimate of costs before starting so that you do not get surprised at the end.

It may be more appropriate to deal with cases on a “no win no fee” basis where you will not usually have to pay our costs. However, if we do win, then you will agree to pay us a percentage of your compensation award.
