ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES
Funding Your Claim
If your claim is successful and you recover over £1,000 in compensation for injuries, then you are entitled to claim your legal costs from the person or organisation who is at fault.
We will not advise you to proceed with a claim unless we believe it will be successful. If this is the case, then you will be able to claim compensation as well as the legal costs to run the claim. However, if your claim is unsuccessful, you will have to pay both your legal costs and those of the other side. This risk can be reduced by arranging funding in one of the following ways:-
1. Legal Expense Insurance - you may already have this insurance within your household or motor insurance. You should check if you purchased this cover when you took the policy out and let us know.
2. Conditional Fee Agreement (No win no fee) - If you do not have legal expense insurance you will need to sign up on a Conditional Fee Agreement. This means that if you do not win your case, you will not have to pay our costs or those of the other party.
3. After the Event Insurance - If we feel that the matter is especially risky, we will advise that an insurance policy is taken out after your accident to insure against the risk of losing your case. Once again, this means that if you do not win your case, you will not have to pay our costs or those of the other party.
